金融庁は２８日、不正アクセスにより約５８０億円分の仮想通貨「ＮＥＭ（ネム）」が流出した仮想通貨取引所の運営大手コインチェック（東京）に対し、近く改正資金決済法に基づく業務改善命令を出す方向で検討に入った。コインチェックの安全管理体制を問題視し、他の取引所への不安拡大を抑えるためにも迅速な処分が必要と判断した。
