１月26日にネムの流出が発覚した。外部ネットワークに接続したまま保管していたため、サイバー攻撃の標的になった。外部への流出額は2014年に取引所マウントゴックスで起きた約480億円分を上回り、日本では過去最大となる。金融庁は２月13日までに、再発防止策や顧客対応を含む改善命令への回答を出すように指示している。
